Lt Gransden Charity Air & Car Show
At Gransden we have a dedicated team of persons giving their spare time and assistance to make the air show happen. We have been running the show now since 1992.
Starting as a small event raising a just few £100’s we have grown to an event that raised over £63,743 in our best year. The sole purpose is to provid monies for children locally and nationally.
Being a small event run by volunteers we have had some great successes in attracting some notable displays. The big stars have been 2 x Lancaster flypast, Avro Vulcan, Lockheed CP-140 Aurora that flew all the way from Canada to display for us.
We are supported by many air display pilots from all around the country who know that all our monies raise go to charity, as such we are in a lucky position to attract some ‘expensive” acts that would normally be out of our price range. Mostly years we are also supported by the RAF and have the BBMF with Spitfire and Hurricane.
In September 2016 we sadly lost an important member of our team, Adrian Hamilton, who put in so much effort bringing the event up to the paperwork standards for modern events as required by local authorities. South Cambs bought in SAG (safety advisory group) meetings for which a manual needed writing, this was just one task Adrian took on.
