To ski the valley blanche for the first time without a guide use common sense and pick the right day. Minimum equipment required is crampons, climbing harness, 20 meters approx of rope & emergency locator beacons.

Picking the day is of huge importance to an easy passage, hard snow, no wind, no clouds make it the easiest conditions for first time. Purists would want fresh powder snow :)

The walk from the ice cave door looking down can be terrifying for those used to a flat earth! In the winter months a ropeway is installed to help mitigate the 70' slope each side where a fall would be death unless roped to a partner prepared to jump the other side to your fall.

The hike down to the start area takes 20 - 30 mins.

Each cable car brings approx 30 skiers these soon disperse and you have this massive mountain valley virtually to yourself.

We are all waiting for the top gun sequel, its been delayed several times now. So..... we made our own :)
