THE PYRO PYLON RUN
Bringing something new to the airshow circuit is not so easy as flying has been around for over 100 years, indeed this coming year is 100 years since the RAF inception in 2018
The RED BULL air race concept was the last innovative air display concept new on the block some 14 years ago now. This is a time trial flown between and around inflatable pylons. Pilots are paired and fly in heats against each other culminating in a winner. The fastest pilot with no penalty points for pylon hits, to low, to high, too much G all bringing time penalties.
The RED BULL races have proved very popular with audiences around the World. These events are notoriously expensive to host with city’s paying in the millions of Euros to stage events. With that in mind Mark has combined pyrotechnics and display flying to give the thrill of the event without the associated high costs.
The pyro pylon run sees roman candles being fired at the rate of 10 per second to a height of 150 feet creating a fiery pylon to fly around. The resultant video and photos tell their own story of the new spectacle.
