Organisers – Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority
The ADTA, established in September 2004, has wide ranging responsibilities for managing and developing the emirate’s tourism industry. These include :- destination marketing, infrastructure and product development and regulation and classification. A key role is to create synergy in the international promotion of Abu Dhabi through close co-ordination with the emirate’s hotels, destination management companies, airlines and other public and private sector travel-related organisations.
The Al Ain Aerobatic Show is held under the patronage of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and is carried out in partnership with Al Ain Municipality and Al Ain Police.
Al Ain is a fertile oasis city located approximately 160 kilometres east of the Abu Dhabi capital. Its name (“the spring” in Arabic) derives from its originally plentiful supply of fresh water, which makes its way underground across most of the plain lying before the Omani mountains – The Abu Dhabi tourist authority (ADTA) stage the 2012 show on 30th November – 2nd December. Well worth a visit especially as during late november the temperatures are down to a manageable 28’c during day time and dropping to 20’c during the night .
