Little Gransden Charity Airshow

This was the 26th year we have raised monies for local charities and Children In Need.

Like all other airshows in the UK since the Shoreham disaster our attendance figures were down as compared to previous years. However this did not stop us delivering 10 x £500 cheques to local children’s groups, Gamlingay Football Colts, Waresley Cricket Club, EACH (East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice), Gamlingay Rainbow Pre-school Playgroup, Barnabas Oley Primary School, Bridget Smith Trustee for Forward Gamlingay Youth Club, Great Gransden Playgroup, Gamlingay First School, and Frazer Allison a local fundraiser on behalf of Sue Ryder and St Johns charities.

The balance went to Children In Need, the BBC’s National charity. Over the years we have raised in the region of £320,000. This years presentation was at Colne Valley Railway museum  with Susie Fowler-Watt and David  Whiteley hosting.

The show is total managed by volunteers putting in their own spare time. In some case time they don’t have spare!.

Everyone who has helped us needs a thank you and whilst I write I apologies to those not mentioned.

Where do I start, well our committee for turning out to meetings on the dark nights of winter at Gransden.

Many if not all our display pilots fly for zero and hugely reduced fees as they know every bit of spare money goes to worthy causes. Thanks.
